Police Credit Union provides members with services designed to help them improve their economic well being.

Insurance

Loans are insured by CUNA Caribbean Mutual Life Insurance Company. In cases of Death, the insurance pays off all outstanding loan balance and a percentage is given on the members shares

Dividends to Members

Police Credit Union pays an appropriate rate of interest to members’ shares depending on the Surplus accumulated during the year in review and is distributed among ex members and retained for serving members for use in service development.

Financial Stability

Our Credit Union maintains reserves and employs internal control that ensures continuous provision of services to members.


Social Benefits

Education

Police Credit Union promote the personal growth of individuals by educating its members, elected officials, employees and the general public in the application of co-operative principles and the prudent management of money.

Co-operation

Police Credit Union is part of a co-operative network that includes other Credit Unions and co-operative organizations at the local, national and international levels. Co-operation among these organizations is aimed at better serving the interests of members and their community.

Social Responsibility

Police Credit Union actively encourage individual and social development, by supporting efforts to improve personal well-being, realize human potential and uphold principles of social justice in the community.

October is Credit Union Month. A day within the said month is set aside to celebrate International Credit Unions’ Day.

The Guyana Police Cooperative Credit Union Limited is affiliated with the Guyana Credit Union League, which is govern by the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Union (CCCU) whose headquarters is in St. Kitts and comprise of two hundred fifty five (255) affiliates Credit Union in seventeen (17) countries and membership of one million nine hundred thousand (1.9 million), and assets of 3.7 billion.

Every year in the month of June affiliates attends a Convention and Annual General Meeting for Credit Union Regulators Credit Union Professional, Board of Directors, Staff members and Credit Union members in different countries. Persons who attended the 2013 Convention which was held in Panama were Directors’ G. Primo(Chairman), C. Griffith(Secretary), A. Harding (Manageress) and staff members D. Holder and S. Frantzen. For 2014 same would be held in Bahamas, under the theme: “Re-engineering Credit Unions for Success and Sustainability”.

The Board of Directors, Manager and Staff would like to encourage its members to feel free to visit the Credit Union and capitalise on its unique opportunity so together we can expand our knowledge, techniques, experiences and perspectives in pursuit of meeting our member’s needs.
